Parenthood isn’t just about planning the right time in your life to have a child.

It’s also about making choices regarding how you want to raise your child by understanding yourself, discovering your own coaching abilities, and developing a conscious map that allows for a few side excursions along the way. It’s about opening the drapes and letting the light in, taking deep breaths, and embracing all the sweet, inconvenient, laughable, stressful, and playful ups and downs of this great adventure.

At its heart, this book is a personal journey of raising children to be empowered, authentic and confident in themselves.

It’s about learning to parent purposefully, with thoughtfulness and intention, and sharing those learnings so that you too, as a parent, can build a lasting relationship with your child, rooted in communication, accountability, and trust.

Parenting has changed dramatically since you were raised, and by the time you raise your children, it will dramatically change again.

This is known as the Highway of Life and as such, there are times you will find the process slow. Other times you will find it going way too fast, and want nothing more than to put your foot on the brakes. Every child is different, every child has challenges they will test you with, and every experience can be the most profound moments of your life.

This book is for parents of children of all ages, including grandparents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, babysitters – anyone who interacts with growing children, in any setting. They say it takes a village to raise a child. This book is for the village.

An Absolute Fantastic Read!
With two young children of my own, I’m always looking for ways to better my parenting skills. This book really made me think about how I was communicating with my kids. It also makes you look at the lessons you are teaching your children without even noticing it. Jan found a tremendous way to break it down in a way that everyone can understand. I have used a few of her suggestions and already see results with the way my boys are responding. I would recommend this book to anyone with children. Being a parent is not easy and Jan shows that a little goes a long way … Thank you so much Jan, I have really taken in so much from your book. ~ Codie

Parent to Parent is for everyone!
Even if you don’t have children, Parent to Parent is a must read! In this book Jan opens up ways of communication with not only children but all in our social/family circle. She relays that key words are so powerful! If we step back for just a second and really choose our words before they are so easily said and take each moment as a teaching moment … they will last a lifetime! ~ Kristine

For everyone who has relationships with others, starting with Parents!
Before I even finished reading this book, I made a list of 12 people to gift it to for Christmas. This book is so much more than parenting, it’s for anyone who has relationships with others as many of the principals apply to people of any age. I Love the questions used to deepen insights into the person you are communicating with. This book is rich with wisdom and practical advice. It’s Brilliant! I extend gratitude from the bottom of my heart for doing what it took to get this written, published and in the hands of readers! Janine Fulla, you have my deepest admiration! ~ Cathy

“Janine’s compassion for parents, youth and children in challenging circumstances is strong and unwavering.  Her encouragement, modelling and respect have given the parents she works with the forum to connect with each other, to find empowerment within themselves, and to find renewed hope for their relationship with their families and their children.”

“Without family support raising children on your own is very difficult. So many things I didn’t know how to handle or what to say to my children. Janine helped me to stop and picture myself as the child and what would I want to hear and how to communicate that way. Such a blessing!”

“I didn’t know how to approach the topic of divorce with my children and I wasn’t comfortable talking to my family or friends.  I like that talking to Janine was confidential and easy.  Things were more complicated as there is a divorce happening now too.  It was hard for me to ask for help but it is also the best advice I can give another father.”

“I recently married and my kids and my husband’s kids didn’t get on well.  Age difference is what I thought it was all about and that it would work itself out.  I am so glad I didn’t wait for that to happen.   My friend told me about Janine so I called her and let’s say it did take some work but we are now moving toward a much happier family.  Thank you so much!”

After talking with Janine, I had a better understanding of my 8 and 11-year-old boys and why they did the things they did.  I had several questions and she helped me to answer them myself giving me clarity in my parenting style.  I realize what I say and do has a big impact on my children and I stopped getting angry with them and looked at what I was doing to create that reaction.  Thanks Janine!”

I thought I would lose my mind and that I tried everything.  Talking with Janine put things into perspective that I didn’t consider and now I enjoy an easier time with my children.”

“I found Janine to be understanding. She really listened to me and I feel I am a much better parent now.  I highly recommend her to anyone going through a divorce or separation.”

I really needed some help with my teenage kids and Janine was there.  I wish I had met her a long time ago!”

Janine is full of wisdom and insights that I never thought of.  Thank you for helping me change into a better parent!”
